The Choice Is Clear: Socialism vs. Capitalism in the Fight for NYC's Future

New York City is at a crossroads. In this election, voters aren’t just choosing a mayor — they’re deciding what kind of city we want to be.

Will we become a city that punishes hard work, demonizes success, and lets bureaucrats and ideologues control every aspect of our lives? Or will we reclaim the promise of a city where freedom, opportunity, and ambition are celebrated?

That’s the real choice between socialism and capitalism in New York today.

Let me be clear: I didn’t grow up with privilege. My parents were working-class immigrants. My father washed dishes. My mother cleaned homes. But they worked hard, saved what little they could, and taught me that in this country, with grit and persistence, you could make a better life.

That belief took me to college, to graduate schools, and ultimately to building successful businesses that created jobs and expanded access to healthcare. I didn’t get rich in politics. I built a career solving real problems in the real world.

But lately, our city has been drifting away from that ethos.

We have politicians who praise socialism, push radical ideology, and want to turn New York into a testing ground for failed policies. They propose government-controlled housing, wage mandates that crush small businesses, and taxes that drive away the very entrepreneurs and job creators who keep this city running.

Meanwhile, quality of life has collapsed. Crime is up. Affordability is down. Storefronts are shuttered. Families are leaving.

Capitalism isn’t perfect, but it’s what built New York. It’s what allowed working-class families like mine to rise. It’s what made our city a global hub of art, finance, culture, and innovation.

I’m running for mayor to restore that spirit.

That means empowering small businesses, not strangling them with red tape. It means rewarding work, not weaponizing government. And it means making sure that the American Dream is alive and well here in the greatest city in the world.

You won’t hear that from career politicians. You won’t hear that from self-proclaimed socialists. But you will hear it from me.

Because I believe New York still has what it takes to lead the world — we just need to choose the right direction.

The future of this city depends on it.
