WHY I AM RUNNING FOR MAYOR
I am not a career politician. I’m the son of immigrants who came to this country with nothing, and I’ve spent my life building businesses and giving back. I believe in the American Dream because I’ve lived it.
But today, too many New Yorkers are being priced out, shut out, or left behind. Crime is up. Schools are failing. The cost of living is out of control. The city is being mismanaged at every level—and working families are paying the price.
I’m running for mayor to fix it. To restore order, raise standards, and deliver real results. This isn’t about politics. It’s about purpose. If you love this city like I do, then let’s get to work.
MEET JOSEPH
Joseph Hernandez came to the U.S. as a Cuban refugee with nothing but determination. Raised in a working-class family, he built a successful career launching companies that improve lives — and now he’s stepping up to fix what City Hall has failed to deliver: safety, affordability, and leadership that works.
We will restore law and order by hiring 10,000 new NYPD officers, strengthening community policing, and improving emergency response with smarter technology.
By unlocking 132,000 new housing units, we will raise the vacancy rate, lower rents, and make it possible for working families to live in New York City.
Smart NYC will use artificial intelligence and real-time data to improve public safety, sanitation, traffic flow, and city services in every neighborhood.
We will fix our school system by raising teacher pay, expanding school choice, and bringing modern tools like AI into every classroom.
We will tackle the mental health crisis with transitional housing, expanded treatment access, and compassionate, community-based care.
